feeling grateful

lately i've been keeping a gratitude journal, and every night i write down 12 things i am grateful for that day.

i've realized i'm so blessed.

i've been given things that other people can only dream about; things like a bed. and heat in the house. and a constant supply of food. and a job. and the opportunity to attend school and become something great.

one of my new years resolutions (cause i know you want to hear about those) is to stop taking simple things for granted. today i was able to read my scriptures outside on my trampoline. outside in january! it was just beautiful out there.

speaking of blessings, i'm so so so grateful for the friends i was blessed with, especially all my boys. they've made me respect and appreciate the priesthood more than ever. the first one of the guy just left on his mission today. after 12 weeks in the MTC he'll be headed to south korea! he is my very best friend. it was so tough seeing him go, but he's doing the right thing & he'll be such a great missionary. the people of south korea are lucky to have him.

i'm glad i was born in the 90's

for a lot of different reasons, but one thing in particular.

the music.

there was some dang good stuff back then. my range of music as a 10 year old was mostly inspired by my parents and the soundtracks from mary-kate and ashley movies, but as far as i can remember, the radio played some sweet tunes.

some of my favorites were the corrs, shania twain, and the la's.

i love love love this one. he's so handsome.

and what woman wouldn't love a man comparing her to aphrodite? see ya t-pain.

there is still a ton of really good music out there, but come on guys...

it's my favorite day of the whole year today

i don't know whether it's because we have fondue for dinner, or track santa all day long, or sing along while my sister plays hymns on the piano, or when my dad reads the story of Christ's birth from Luke, but

Christmas eve just gets to me.

so do these slippers that my friend cole gave to me for secret santa. aren't they awesome?

haa kidding. i just think that's hilarious. but we did have a little kitten show up at our doorstep, and she's the sweetest thing ever.

we call her Lucy. she likes cuddling and climbing up onto your shoulder.
